Weather is almost Clear. It is getting cool day by day. We can see Himalayan view with beautiful sunrise.

Nowadays, farmers looks busy in countryside of Nepal. We can see around here people are harvesting millet. Still in Nepal, we do harvesting in traditional way. This millet were planted in May. It is use for food (especially” Dhindo”, a famous food in Nepal). Dhindo is a very strong food. We cook by put the millet flour into the boiled water and stir. It looks like pudding. It can be used to make “Roxi”, a very famous Nepali liquor.

Millet Harvesting has many process. Normally this work done by women. It takes many days when we took from field. Millet tree is used for cattle food. it needs to be kept in dry place around 10 days and after that it will be dried 2-3 days in under sunlight. Then it will be hit by wooden sticks many times to separate the millet. ( We call kelaune and nifhanne) It means final work for harvesting. The millet will be stored in upstairs of house in big baskets. It can be preserved for 5 years. Of course, somebody sell it for income.
