Hiking

When you land Pokhara airport or get to Pokhara by bus, you will be taken up to the Milan chowk by a jeep or a SUV van. The hiking starts from Milan chowk and it’s all uphill toward Hananoie. The beautiful hike goes through the forest with beautiful birds, butterflies, plants, different species of orchids and if you are lucky enough you will be able to see some spotted deer or barking deer.

On the way, there are a couple of traditional bench (called chautara) where we can sit on the shade and have the wonderful view of the valley, hills, rivers and Himalayas. The one of the world’s top ten Himalayas you see in front of your eyes always encourage you to take another more step towards Hananoie. As, you ascend higher the view gets better and you will be served with the best of the natural beauty. The hiking path up to the road gets quite muddy and it’s always fun to try escaping the mud and make your own track within the track. The people you will meet on the hike are most of the time with happy smiling faces and they will greet you with ” NAMASTE”( hello in Nepali).

Before getting to Hananoie you will pass across a small village called Jhijhirka. You will see and hear goats, buffalos, cows, oxen, cats and dogs when you pass across the small village. And of course the smiling and happy faces of the children on the way encourage you to get higher and take lots of pictures. After passing across Jhijhirka you will walk through a thick forest full of beautiful creatures. You might also see some monkeys in the forest. The terrace farming on the hills and the ancient engineering of making terrace farming lands you will see will always amaze you. The hard-working people do on those terraces are incredible and they would make you feel how small you are how big the mother nature can be. After passing across the forest and then walking for about 20-30 mins you will reach the hilltop of Astam where the Hanano-ie is situated. You will forget all your walk and your sorrows when you get to Hananoie because the mother nature serves you with her best sceneries.
