During the training, Mr. Durga, a hananoie staff, took us to Astam Village, where he was born. Astam is a small mountain village of which population is around 300. Farming is the main source of income. We walked uphill, passing through the green terrace paddy fields. The green scenery cooled us from the hot sunshine.
We went to Hananoie by a Jeep from Pokhara, the base of trekking and sightseeing, via Milanchowk, a small town at the trailhead to Hananoie. It is a good idea to walk on the trail From Milanchowk to Hananoie which took approximately 1.5 to 2 hours

This is the month of June or Nepali month “Ashar”. It is rainy and cloudy almost everyday. Ashar is a busy month but very important beacause we start planting rice in this month. Of course, there are a plenty of paddy field around Hananoie so we can see people planting rice.
Honey harvesting is very interesting and exciting. It is a little bit dangerous so we put on the protector. First, we took bee hives out from the keeping box. Of course some bees came to attack us but finally they gave up and let us take the hives. Then, we peeled beewax at the surfaces of the hive to let the honey flow out. However, because of its viscosity, we needed to use a machine to bring the honey out from the hives.
